Vision & Objectives: The Cultural Experience Park in Kigali was developed as a cultural and educational park designed to immerse visitors in the rich history and traditions of Rwanda. The goal was to create a dynamic meeting place where heritage, storytelling, and immersive experiences converge, while also generating sustainable economic opportunities for the local community.

Concept Development: As the leaders and initiators of the consortium, GreenDreamCompany played a central role in shaping the vision and execution of the project. The park design was developed through an interdisciplinary approach, combining expertise in strategic spatial development, cultural storytelling, and brand experience, all guided by the principles of values-driven entrepreneurship.

  • Strategic Development: The masterplan integrated long-term spatial planning with sustainable land-use principles, ensuring a development strategy that aligned with local needs and future growth potential.
  • Cultural & Narrative Design:  The park concept was rooted in deep cultural storytelling, translating Rwandan heritage into engaging experiences through oral traditions, artistic expressions, and immersive environments.

GreenDreamCompany’s approach was firmly based on values-driven entrepreneurship, ensuring that the project’s impact extended beyond economic gain. Impact Communication: To effectively communicate the concept and its impact, GreenDreamCompany developed a dedicated impact communication strategy. A key element of this strategy was the production of the first animated film for the project. This film visually brought the vision to life, illustrating the immersive experiences, cultural connections, and economic opportunities the park aimed to create. It served as a powerful tool for engaging stakeholders, potential investors, and the broader community.

Visitors would engage with Rwandan culture through themed zones, workshops, live performances, and innovative multimedia experiences. In addition to fostering cultural awareness, the project aimed for an inclusive and sustainable development approach, involving local artisans, artists, and entrepreneurs.

Development Phase: The project underwent a comprehensive feasibility study, and the masterplan was successfully completed. This involved in-depth research into the location, market potential, financial feasibility, and design principles. The development was carried out in close collaboration with local stakeholders and cultural institutions.

Conclusion: This project resulted in a comprehensive framework for cultural experience parks in emerging markets. The extensive research, strategic planning, and creative storytelling approaches have provided valuable insights that continue to inspire new initiatives.
